Dog Massage Therapy Now Available at Paws Playgrounds

Oct 16, 2020

We are delighted to announce that Paws Playgrounds is now offering in-house Dog Massage Therapy services for all of our beloved furry guests!

Paws Playgrounds is teaming up with Ian Byrne of Canine Massage Therapy to offer exclusive dog massage services available to any of our overnight guests at our dog daycare and dog boarding facility in Toronto’s Leslieville neighborhood.

Many of you may already know Ian from his time as Daycare Manager with us over the past couple of years, but what you may not know is that he is a Certified Canine Massage Therapist and has just launched his services here in Toronto.

We have seen an increasing shift towards preventative holistic care for our dogs with techniques like acupuncture, chiropractors, water therapy and massage therapy now being used extensively as part of our dogs overall health regime.

Massage Therapy carries a litany of wonderful benefits that all dogs big and small, young and old can gain from, including pain relief, increased mobility, emotional calming, trauma recovery, injury prevention, improved flexibility and many more.

‘I’m over the moon to be able to offer my services to all of my furry friends at Paws who I’ve come to know and love since starting here back in 2018. Since first starting my Canine Massage Therapy Certification studies I’ve been fortunate enough to treat all sorts of wonderful dogs in need of various forms of care for a variety of reasons.

There are the dogs that have severe and debilitating diseases such as hip dysplasia, dogs who have been mal-treated and have emotional issues, and then there’s those perfectly fit and happy dogs who maybe just deserve some extra TLC now and again – the benefits of massage are the same for all of these dogs as it is for us humans’

Ian also says that although all dogs can benefit from the inclusion of massage as a regular part of their health and wellness routine, there are some groups in particular that Massage Therapy can be of particular benefit.

  • Puppies
  • Elderly/Aging Dogs
  • Rescue Dogs
  • Dogs coming out of surgery
  • Working Dogs
  • Show Dogs
  • Greyhounds
  • Pre-Cancer treatment dogs

If you’re interested in Canine Massage Therapy as part of your dogs health and wellness regime, or just want to treat your beloved pup to a relaxing session while they stay with us, please get in touch!

Our in-house massage services are offered as part of our overnight boarding services only. We do not offer massage as part of our daycare services. If you would like to book an overnight stay with massage treatment you can do so via our website.

Ian also offers in-home massage therapy visits and private massage workshops in the Toronto core.
