Paws Playgrounds – Dog Daycare and Dog Boarding
A dog-loving couple from Vancouver, Sue and Jason, started Paws Playgrounds in 2008. After moving to Toronto, we needed to find a safe, reliable and fun pet service for our beloved dog while we worked long hours downtown. After searching in vain for a company that would meet our expectations, we decided to leave the corporate world behind and follow our true passion. Dogs! We opened Paws Playgrounds with the goal of providing a secure, positive environment where every dog could play, learn and grow.
We have spent years researching and refining our services to make sure that we offer the most innovative and enriching experience for our wonderful clients and their pets. Now, umpteen years later, we’ve built a premier facility and playgrounds, we’ve become one of the top rated pet services in the city and we are so excited to continue on this wild, furry journey with you all!

I have 20 years experience working with dogs in dog daycare, including the Toronto Humane Society, volunteering with dogs with behavioural issues. I’ve always been dog obsessed and with a background in design and being handy, I am helping create dog paradise at Paws Playgrounds!

I’ve been taking care of pets, primarily dogs for almost fifteen years. Having been at Paws for many years I’ve been so lucky to watch many dogs grow up from puppies.
I previously had two Frenchies and love all breeds but especially bully breeds. I am currently on the lookout for my next rescue dog!

Karl
I grew up in England and was the proud dad of 2 little Cavalier King Charles Spaniels named Bonnie & Clyde. After graduating university with my ‘Animal & wildlife behaviour and management’ degree I have travelled the world and worked with all kinds of amazing animals. In the past 7 years I have worked with a variety species including amphibians, dogs, wetland birds, bats, sea turtles, Asian elephants and Humpback whales! My combined experience in both wild and domestic animal behaviour has lead me here to Toronto, to take on a new challenge working with the best Pups Toronto has to offer.

KD
Hey y’all! I’m KD, one of the Daycare Attendants here at Paws Playgrounds! I’ve been doing training with working dogs & doing decoy work for 3 years. Dogs are my world & I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Elly
My journey started back in the spring of 2018 in a small village on a Greek island working to rehabilitate old and often neglected donkeys as well as stray dogs.
While working with the dogs and the many vets and health interns that visited the rescue from around the world, I learned a lot of important lessons that would help the rescue in the winter months when that help would be the least available to us.
After the successful rehabilitation of the dogs and finding loving homes for them, it was incredibly rewarding to see how happy and fulfilled their lives were! Not to mention how happy the families were as well.
This next chapter of my life is extremely exciting for me as I now get to work with many loving pups and expand my knowledge of canine behaviour here at Paws Playgrounds.

Ingrid
I grew up in the country side of Ireland where I was responsible of caring for multiple species of farm animals and multiple dogs. Iv been an avid traveller for years and have lived in many countries where I have also volunteered in many animal shelters including Costa Rica Animal Rescue Centre and have visited Uganda to see the mountain Gorillas.
I have been living in Canada for 8 years now where I have been a dog walker to many different types of dogs and I am now the proud owner of a sassy French bulldog Taco.

Miranda
My biggest passion has always been caring for animals, whether it be a lifelong menagerie of pets or orphaned/injured wildlife. But dogs have a truly special AND massive place in my heart. Calling myself a ‘PDC’ or ‘Professional Dog Cuddler’, I’ve also been affectionately titled ‘That crazy dog lady’ by friends and family. My motto in life comes down to three simple words: “MUST LOVE DOGS!”. Working in the world of Animal Rescue and Rehab has led to some amazing volunteer experiences locally and Internationally. Over the years I’ve been an Animal Shelter Attendant, Rescue Driver, Dog Walker, Pet Sitter, Wildlife Rehab Volunteer and Veterinary Assistant. In 2021 I was thrilled to join the pack at Paws Playgrounds, where work perks include endless cuddles, loving on dogs as though they’re my own and the joy of seeing them have the time of their lives!

Victoria
I’ve always had a passion for being around/working with animals. I grew up with a German Shepherd, cats, birds, small mammals and have worked with horses for over 10 years. In the last few years i’ve become a professional bather, and VA certified (including nutrition and first aid). My journey has lead me to to Paws Playground and I couldn’t be happier.
